STUMPY
Male
Est DoB: Jan 2023

Stumpy showed up in December at a feral feed station in a small community "walking on stumps". A caring individual fed and sheltered him; yet he disappeared for a long period of time, reappearing in January and not doing well.
Upon rescue, Stumpy was taken to the vet and his hind leg was subsequently amputated. He is now a beloved tripod.
Stumpy is not feral; he likely was previously owned and was abandoned or lost. He maintains great eye contact, allows pets and is just very timid and scared at this point.
We've had a few questions about Stumpy's name; he was named from a place of love and respect. His name by definition is associated with powerful or scalable. It means short and thick (strong). Stumpy has shown great strength and resilience and managed to survive even with his stump. He is a small, lovely boy with a warrior spirit. We will post more as his healing journey continues and he becomes ready for his forever home.
