Meet Ridge – The Handsome Old Soul

Ridge is a short‑haired black (fixed) tomcat who has lived more life than most cats ever will. For years, this old gentleman survived the hard way—outdoors, fending for himself and carrying hardships with quiet strength. When he arrived at LCCR, his bravery became even more apparent: beneath his stoic exterior was an old, long‑hidden fracture. Once it became too painful to ignore, we stepped in to help. He underwent a back‑leg amputation shortly after arrival, and since then, Ridge has been embracing a new, gentler chapter.

These days, Ridge has settled comfortably into indoor living. His favorite pastime? Lounging. Beds, cubbies, soft blankets—if it’s cozy, Ridge will find it and make it his own. As a tripod, he can’t jump up high, but he handles stairs just fine and can move surprisingly quickly when he feels motivated. Once in a while, his body reminds him of his rough past, but nothing dims his enjoyment of comfort and calm.

Ridge is about 12 years old—one of our treasured seniors—and he carries himself with a quiet, dignified presence. He enjoys affection on his own terms and will politely let you know when he’s had enough. He also gets along well with most other cats, especially those who appreciate space and a peaceful environment.

Ridge isn’t asking for much—just a calm, steady home where he can nap in sunny spots, enjoy the occasional gentle scratch, and spend his golden years safe and loved. After everything he has been through, this dear old tom deserves a soft place to land.
