PENELOPE

Penelope is one of the cherished originals of the LCCR—one of the quiet little souls who has been part of our sanctuary’s story from the very beginning. Over the years, she’s said goodbye to many beloved feline friends, each loss felt deeply by this tender-hearted girl. But Penelope is resilient, and she has slowly woven herself into new friendships, finding comfort and companionship with cats like Ruby, another gentle spirit who understands the language of shy hearts.

You’ll often find Penelope perched on the counter, one of our beloved “counter cats,” observing the world with calm golden eyes. She’s the type of kitty who won’t rush toward you; instead, she watches softly from a distance, taking her time, deciding how she feels in her own quiet way. Once she’s comfortable, she shows her affection through little gestures—soft rubs against her feline friends, shared naps, and contented companionship.

Penelope loves her routines: treats, peaceful days in the catio, and the simple comfort of having other cats nearby. She may not be the boldest voice in the room, but her presence is steady, soothing, and deeply endearing.
