Shortly before she was rescued, caring people caught glimpses of her again at a feeding station; frail and emaciated, likely moving between colonies and only venturing out under the cover of night. Life had not been kind to this little girl, yet she held on, waiting for a chance at safety.

Today, Mallet is finally in caring hands. She will need extensive dental work once her body stabilizes, and her road to recovery will be long. But every step forward is a testament to her quiet courage and will to live.
