STUMPY
Male
Est DoB: Jan 2023
Energy Level - Laid Back
Good with: Cats. Getting more comfortable with humans.

Stumpy showed up in December at a feral feed station in a small community "walking on stumps". A caring individual fed and sheltered him; yet he disappeared for a long period of time, reappearing in January and not doing well.
Upon rescue, Stumpy was taken to the vet and his hind leg was subsequently amputated. He is now a beloved tripod.
Stumpy is not feral; he likely was previously owned and was abandoned or lost. He maintains great eye contact, allows pets and is shy. He has gotten to know many of the other kitties and can often be found hanging out with his friends. Being a tripod has not slowed him down and he will often be found "up high" on the cat trees or on top of the crates.
We've had a few questions about Stumpy's name; he was named from a place of love and respect. His name by definition is associated with powerful or scalable. It means short and thick (strong). Stumpy has shown great strength and resilience and managed to survive even with his stump. He is a small, lovely boy with a warrior spirit who is looking for his forever home.
Stumpy will need a home and family that will respect his boundaries and give him the time and space he needs to continue rebuilding his trust of humans and getting more comfortable in a home setting.
