Meet Thistle 🌸
A resilient tortie with a heart as big as her personality
Thistle is a beautiful tortoiseshell lady whose story is one of strength, love, and second chances. She first came to LCCR after suffering a broken elbow that ultimately required amputation. Thistle met this challenge with quiet courage—and as so many tripod kitties do, she adapted beautifully and continues to live her life to the fullest.
After her recovery, Thistle was adopted into a loving home. Sadly, through no fault of her own, her owner later became unable to care for her, and Thistle found her way back to her friends at the ranch. Today, she’s thriving in a warm and caring foster home, where her foster mom proudly reports that Thistle is, in her words, “a very interesting cat.”

And interesting she certainly is.
Thistle adores belly rubs—so much so that she’ll happily run right in front of you, dramatically flop to the floor, and present her tummy as if it’s the most important item on your to-do list. She may gently chew on your hand during cuddle time, but it’s never mean-spirited and never breaks the skin—just one of her quirky ways of showing affection.

When picked up, Thistle becomes a total lovebug. She’ll curl herself around your neck and rest on your shoulder, content and trusting, like she’s exactly where she belongs. She enjoys her scratching post, is highly motivated by treats, and brings a delightful mix of sweetness and personality to every room she enters.

Thistle may be missing a leg, but she’s overflowing with love, charm, and resilience. She’s looking for a forever home that will appreciate her cuddle-loving nature, her playful quirks, and her remarkable spirit.
If you’re searching for a cat who will make you smile every day—and quite possibly demand belly rubs on her schedule—Thistle might just be the perfect addition to your family.
